ZEDES, Contemporary Art Gallery in Brussels.

The Zedes Art Gallery was created by Christiane De Smedt, Art historian, in Antwerp 1987. Four years later, she opened her new space for Contemporary Art in Brussels, in a former library in the Ixelles district.

The gallery represents and supports young emerging as well as established Belgian and international artists, employing various techniques such as painting, photography, sculpture, installation and video. Five to six solo exhibitions are held each year. The gallery maintains two spaces: the ground floor is used for temporary exhibitions and the basement as a project room for young artists and the permanent art collection.
