Romina Remmo

The threshold of the door is a place of transition ; it marks the boundary between two worlds: the visible outside and the inner world, still hidden away. It is a space of hesitation, discovery and transformation.  Romina Remmo’s works explore precisely this zone of transition. The organic forms she develops question the boundaries between the living body and matter, prompting viewers to draw nearer and cross a threshold that is as much physical as it is sensory. The visual artist creates objects, paints, photographs and also works with bobbin lace, whose openwork structure here becomes a metaphor for skin. The artist explores the mechanisms of fascination, but also of repulsion, that shape our relationship with living things. The delicacy of the fabric, combined with the coldness of sharp materials such as hooks, pins and needles, creates an ambivalent space, a place of conflicting forces where attraction and repulsion coexist. The Edge of the Intimate is an invitation to engage with the deeply unsettling fragility of the human condition.
